The Tabula Esterzili — a bronze tablet carrying the decree of Lucius Helvius Agrippa, proconsul of Sardinia, given on 13 March AD 69. It settles a long-running boundary dispute between two Sardinian peoples, the Patulcenses Campani and the Galillenses, over land the Galillenses had seized by force. The decree works by quoting a chain of earlier rulings — a Republican boundary fixed by M. Metellus, the confirmations of the procurator Rixa, the deadlines of the proconsul Caecilius Simplex — and ends with the governor's own ruling and a closing date. Complete on one sealed bronze.
