An Athenian decree concerning an alliance with Segesta in western Sicily. Preserved on a marble fragment from the Athenian Acropolis, written stoichedon. The dating crux at l. 3 — the archon's name has lost all but its final iota — has anchored a longstanding debate over mid-5th-c. Athenian chronology: Habron (458/7 BCE) vs Antiphon (418/7 BCE). The restoration is purely formula-driven (the slot is the conventional archon-eponym dating-slot of the Athenian decree prescript) but the choice of archon shifts the inscription's date by 40 years and the political context with it.
