SC de Plarasensibus
et Aphrodisiensibus

The Senate's decree of October 39 BCE confirming the freedom (eleutheria), immunity (aneisphoria), and asylia of the joint community of Plarasa and Aphrodisias — passed during the Second Triumvirate at the proposal of the consuls C. Calvisius Sabinus and L. Marcius Censorinus. Originally drafted in Latin, the SC was translated into Greek and inscribed on the archive wall at Aphrodisias along with the rest of the Roman documents of the city (Reynolds Aphrodisias and Rome 8). 59 lines of Greek text survive, with heavy editorial restoration of the praescriptio and end.[ZH pending]
