Seleucus I to Miletus: the gift of offerings to Apollo at Didyma

The founder of the Seleucid dynasty, Seleucus I Nicator, writes to the council and people of Miletus announcing that he has sent to the sanctuary of Apollo at Didyma a great lampstand and gold and silver vessels as offerings to the Savior Gods, escorted by Polianthes; appended is a detailed inventory of the plate (phialai, deer-head rhyta, a Zeus-Soter horn, a gem-set wine-cooler, a gold platter, a great silver wine-cooler) with the weight of each, plus spices and a sacrifice of a thousand victims and twelve oxen. 288/287 BCE.塞琉古王朝奠基者塞琉古一世(尼卡托)致函米利都议会与人民,宣告其已遣波利安托斯护送,向狄底马阿波罗圣域献上大烛台及金银器,作为献予救主之神之供品;附器物详细清单(诸碗、鹿首角杯、宙斯救主之角杯、嵌宝冷酒器、金盘、大型银冷酒器),逐一记重,另有香料及千牲十二牛之祭。公元前288/287年。
