The corpus's earliest layer: Greek polis decrees from the late Archaic to the end of the Classical period. From the Eleans-Heraeans treaty of c. 500 BCE — the earliest dated decree-class document in the corpus, in Elean Doric with retained digamma — to the Drakon Republication of 410/409–400/399 BCE, which preserves the seventh-century Athenian homicide law within a fifth-century re-inscription.
