What survives on the stone is the heading of a decree: the archon-date, a genitive naming the honorand, and the prytany and secretary lines. The Acropolis Museum label presents the stone as the honorary decree for Alketas, king of the Molossians of Epirus; the inscribed heading itself names Ἀλκέτας son of Leptines, the Syracusan. This page prints what the stone transmits and records the divergence without resolving it.</p></sourceDesc>
